House Manager - Queanbeyan

Anglicare NSW

The core mission of Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT) is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people and families. We have a particular focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT and regional and rural NSW.

Anglicare Intensive Therapeutic Care service (ITC) provides a safe and nurturing environment for young people who may have complex behaviour and support needs. ITC provides an alternative to the long term model of care, focusing on recovery from trauma, the achievement of positive life outcomes and a broad range of placement options for children and young people.

We are looking for a key person who would enjoy working in the human services sector and who has a desire to make positive changes in young people's lives. Our House Manager will know how to lead, manage, supervise and support staff, oversee and report on finances, liaise with external stakeholders and oversee all aspects of the management of therapeutic residential service.

The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) has mandated minimum qualifications in ITC which are a prerequisite of this position. This offer and ongoing employment is contingent upon you meeting these requirements. You will need to hold a Bachelor Degree in Social Work or related field or Diploma in Youth Work or Community Services and a commitment to complete a Bachelor Degree. There is a range of opportunities for staff to undertake subsidised study through the Anglicare College. Knowledge of and experience in Permanency Support Program (Out Of Home Care), excellent communication skills and a current driver's license are also essential.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated competencies and the ability to work positively with young people and their families. Experience in working with Aboriginal young people, their families and communities is also required.

The salary range for this position is $82,774 to $86,529 per annum, [pro rata for part-time positions] plus 9.5% employer superannuation guarantee. Generous salary packaging benefits are available under Anglicare's PBI status. Anglicare also offers other benefits including additional personal leave and paid parental leave.

Applicants will be required to undertake the psychometric profiling instrument and must obtain a Working With Children clearance through the Office of the Children's Guardian (NSW) and undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to an offer of employment.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.

For all enquiries, please contact Jennifer Do on 0428 213 749 (during business hours).
