About the Organisation

AMSANT is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in the Northern Territory and advocates for equity in health, focusing on supporting the provision of high quality comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal communities.

Primary objectives:

Using both project management and business analysis skills and experience the business analyst will participate in a range of digital health projects including but not limited to medications safety and management, and advanced care planning.

The role will work closely with and be supported by the AMSANT Digital Health Team and AMSANT member services to complete (but not limited to) current state analysis and to document business requirements specification documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan and undertake business analysis activities within a National ICT program/projects environment including the authoring of Concept Briefs, Business Cases, Business Requirements Specifications, System Requirements Specifications, options and evaluation papers
  • Where applicable lead the quality evaluation and testing of vendor delivered applications, systems and software via established and endorsed testing systems and strategies
  • Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of existing business operations and workflow to establish a base for developing improved structures, processes and systems within the operational environment
  • Participate and assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of the business analysis framework
  • Lead and ensure Business Process Modelling activities within business requirements, process reengineering activities and operational reviews are undertaken within approved standards, methods, tools and notation
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, including the identification of project risks, issues and mitigation strategies impacting solution delivery
  • Actively participate in and provide support and mentoring role for other business analysts within the program/project(s) including peer reviews and quality assurance activities
  • Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communications and fosters relationships across program/projects.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in leading, planning and managing business analysis activities on large-scale complex IM/ICT program/projects, preferably in an NGO environment.
  • Proven conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to respond to client business requirements and a proven ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members.
  • Demonstrated experience leading business process modelling and use case modelling activities for large-scale complex organisations, preferably using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN v3) and application of Six Sigma methods and approaches.
  • Knowledge in, and an ability to provide sound advice and recommendations on, the application of appropriate business analysis techniques, methodologies and tools, preferably aligned with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge Version 3.0 (BABOK)
  • Experience in analysing the gap between current capability and capacity and future demands and the ability to communicate the gap and negotiate the strategy of moving the organisation to be able to deliver and support the new systems.
  • Proven high-level negotiation, consultation facilitation and effective written and oral communications skills for use in a complex program/project environment.
  • Sound understanding of project management frameworks such as Prince 2 and PMBOK

Desirable

  • A minimum of 5 years' or more experience in business analysis within a complex information technology environment.
  • Relevant industry experience in BPMN (v3.0) and Six Sigma is advantageous.
  • Experience in business analysis in health-related settings
  • Understanding of health care delivery in Aboriginal communities
  • Understanding of the My Health Record system function

  • Willingness to undergo a Police Check
  • Ability to obtain a Working with Children's Clearance
