About the Organisation

AMSANT is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in the Northern Territory and advocates for equity in health, focusing on supporting the provision of high quality comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct assistance to the CEO
  • Secretariat to the Senior Management Team (manage and maintain SMT schedules and assist with travel arrangements)
  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondences for the CEO and the SMT
  • Coordinate, prepare agendas and record minutes for the Senior Management and staff meetings
  • Coordinate logistics for Board meetings and provide travel assistance for the member directors when required
  • Assist with filing and retrieving of corporate documents, records, and reports on TRIM system for the SMT
  • Read and analyse incoming proposals, motions and reports to the SMT's in order to determine their significance and plan their distribution and set up follow up schedules. (e.g. to the Board of directors, to the individual Managers)
  • Assist in reviewing operating practices and procedures to comply with ISO accreditation standards as well as to determine whether improvements can be made in areas such as workflow and reporting procedures
  • Provide support and assistance to the corporate team
  • Any other tasks as may be required by the CEO

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Ability to communicate well with a wide range of people across the organisations, community groups and government offices
  • Working knowledge of all electronic office equipment's, and general knowledge of computer hardware and software, as well as ability to work with general office communication applications such as emails and internet
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as - minute taking, word processing, organising meetings and preparation and distributing agendas, managing files and records, preparing list in excel, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A good understanding of Community Controlled Health Organisations in the Northern Territory
  • Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources function and coordination of people and resources
