This is an exciting opportunity to join our Supporter Engagement Unit as part of our dynamic Brand team. The Brand team leads AI Australia’s brand and communications strategies and strategic messaging approach to ensure Amnesty maintains it’s profile as Australia’s leading human rights organisation and continues to attract, engage and retain supporters in order to maximise the organisation’s human rights impact.

The Supporter Engagement Associate will assist in the implementation of Brand, Communications and Supporter Engagement strategies, and manage key communications platforms including Amnesty International Australia’s (AIA’s) website and SEM activity in line with these strategies. You will also be responsible for managing and implementing a range of special projects in line with Supporter Engagement KPIs and organisational goals. You will use your solid understanding of communications platforms including emerging trends, functionality, formats and best practice and content production experience to enhance our supporter experience and contribute to Amnesty’s vision. The successful applicant will work closely with our Brand Manager to uphold the integrity and reputation of AI Australia to help solidify our human rights impact.

You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing maintenance and development of functionality and content for AIA’s website
  • Assisting Brand Manager in coordination of AIA's strategic and brand communications including overseeing organisational training and compliance with communications principles and visual identity guidelines
  • Assisting Brand Manager in activities to extend awareness and affinity of AIA’s brand amongst key target audiences
  • Project management and assistance with key brand, communications and supporter engagement projects, including planning, development and maintenance of project documentation and implementation tasks as required
  • Overseeing management of AIA’s search engine marketing and other digital activities as required
  • Contributing to brand and communications channel performance tracking and reporting as required
  • Support with the overall brand content strategy development including ideation, production and delivery of supporter communications journeys and content using a range of channels and technologies
  • Recruiting and managing volunteers as required

Ideally you will have:

  • Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills
  • Proven understanding of brand and strategic messaging and testing approaches and experience implementing audience-first and values-based brand messaging
  • Content, channel and brand performance analysis and reporting experience
  • Practical experience in website content management, search engine optimisation and search engine marketing
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • A flair for creative thinking, ideation and storytelling with demonstrated experience in producing engaging content across a range of platforms and formats
  • Familiarity with and a strong interest in human rights issues
