This is an exciting opportunity to join Amnesty International Australia’s Operations team. The Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing (DIW) Specialist is a pivotal role for AI Australia and requires an experienced specialist to drive, implement and embed our DIW Action Plan across the organisation. Working closely with the Operations and Finance Director (DIW Project Manager) and People & Culture Team, you will have demonstrable experience in influencing both individuals and teams in effecting change and shifting mindsets, allowing AIA to truly embed equity, diversity and inclusion issues at the core of all of our projects and activities.

The successful applicant will be managing and leading a portfolio that covers inclusion and inclusive leadership, key areas of diversity, and working closely with leaders from across the organisation to deliver and maintain our DIW Action Plan. This is a real opportunity to utilise your background in learning and development processes, facilitation of development programs, and knowledge of DIW best practices to offer valued support and contributions to the team and the wider organisation.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering on the DIW Action Plan and supporting initiatives in line with AI Australia's 2025 strategy
  • Coordinating diversity and inclusion programs and working closely with the People & Culture team to operationalise the DIW agenda.
  • Partnering with the People & Culture Team to ensure diversity and inclusion initiatives and measures are in place across all business units and projects using a best practice approach
  • Managing internal cross functional and other key internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure consistency in program implementation
  • Developing and implementing action plans across gender equality, people with disabilities, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, mature age workers and gender balance in leadership.
  • Supporting with the implementation and delivery of the organisation’s Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Establishing innovative ways to further build advocacy for diversity and inclusion across AI Australia
  • Supporting the setup of additional employee driven inclusion networks
  • Facilitating capability development programs for leaders across the organisation
