This is an exciting opportunity to join our Movement Team on a permanent part-time basis (4 days per week). As one of our Activism Coordinators you will lead development and growth of Amnesty International Australia’s activism strategy by implementing the vision for how AI Australia recruits, retains, engages and mobilises supporters to build excitement and engagement in our movement and maximise our human rights impact.

As an Activism Coordinator, you will also be responsible for managing, delivering and evaluating activism strategies for campaigns to ensure a seamless experience for our supporters. You will also employ proven digital campaigning tactics and tools to ensure AI Australia is continuing to expand and develop digital approaches to mobilising.

Key to your success is the high degree of collaboration with your colleagues to integrate plans to drive meaningful activism approaches that drive impact and grow our movement across the organisation. Reporting to the Movement Manager and supporting the Activism and Membership Committee (AMC) of the Board, this role is key to delivering AI Australia's goal to become an unstoppable movement of people to deliver human rights impact.

You will have:

  • Proven success in devising and executing creative and impactful activism strategies for social change campaigns
  • Campaigning and mobilising experience and skills - digital experience essential
  • Knowledge and experience of a broad range of human rights issues and social change methods and tactics, including mass mobilisation, activism and organising techniques, with a key focus on digital campaigning
  • Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills to build understanding and agreement on strategies and plans across diverse teams
  • Experience working or volunteering at an activist led organisation
  • Experience of managing projects towards achievement of agreed outcomes
