We are entering an exciting period of growth and have recently launched our Strategic Plan 2021-24. We have a number of key positions available that will assist us to implement and achieve planned strategic outcomes for our participants and the communities in which we work. 

Amicus Community Services is a not for profit provider and charity that has been supporting the needs of vulnerable people and local communities across central Victoria since 1988. We currently provide services to people with a disability of all ages as a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered provider, and under the Commonwealth Home Support Program; and children and young people involved with Child Protection and the Out of Home Care system with funding from the Department of Families Fairness and Housing. 

The services we deliver include direct care and support services in the community and in people’s homes, NDIS Short Term Accommodation and Supported Independent Living, Support Coordination and Behaviour Support Services to name a few. We currently support over 500 participants throughout central and northern Victoria in the local Government Areas of City of Greater Bendigo and shires of Mt Alexander, Macedon Ranges, Central Goldfields, Hepburn, Campaspe and Loddon. 

The Role and Responsibilities: 

The Chief Finance and Information Officer has manages the following functional responsibilities: 

  • Finance
  • ICT
  • Asset Management
  • Contract and Lease Management
  • Administration Services 

Key Selection Criteria 

  1. Knowledge - Demonstrated knowledge drawn from both tertiary study in either Finance or Business/ICT and extensive experience in a similar role that enables the provision of authoritative advice in areas of role responsibility.
  2. Attitude - A commitment to the Vision, Mission and Values of Amicus and the empowerment and rights of people who are disadvantaged.
  3. Skills – Superior management and organisational skills including the ability to lead and prioritise the day to day ancillary operations of a dynamic service environment, that delivers high quality person directed supports. Highly developed analytical skills and knowledge of business processes, systems and products, possessing the ability to develop and implement relevant policies and procedures to meet the needs of the organisation. Experience in financial operations interfacing with the NDIS is highly desirable.
  4. Finance - High level financial literacy with ability to prepare and interpret financial reports and manage budgets. Experienced in all aspects of organisational Financial Management from data entry to strategy.
  5. People Management - Extensive experience in the effective management and supervision of staff, including the ability to lead, motivate develop and mentor staff. Solid understanding of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations.
  6. ICT - Experience in designing and implementing organisational information and communication technology strategies and solutions. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, finance software and ERM/P systems.
  7. Customer Focus - Demonstrated experience in a customer service orientated environment which required strategy development to optimise growth and customer satisfaction.
  8. Communication - Highly developed interpersonal skills with a capacity to build rapport and manage relationships with a diverse range of people, using a collaborative approach to engage others and obtain buy-in to change management, new initiatives and directions. 

Mandatory Qualifications 

  • Minimum qualification of degree in finance or business related discipline, CA or CPA highly desirable, plus relevant experience
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence 

Prior to commencement the successful candidate will be required to undertake an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check and complete a declaration of pre-existing injury. 

Salary range 

An attractive salary package is on offer including Salary Packaging and Meals and Entertainment allowance. Salary will be negotiated, depending on level of experience and qualifications.
