The role:

As the Communications Lead, Autism Connect you will be responsible for:

  • High-quality delivery of the communications strategy for Amaze’s signature program, Autism Connect. Implementation includes: contributing to strategy and evaluation, developing and implementing communications plans for state and national rollout, brand stewardship, supporting stakeholder communications, promotion of existing and new resources, liaising with key external suppliers and providers, being part of the operational team for the program.
  • High-quality delivery of the Amaze website, including working with others on the Autism Connect internal team to establish the online experience of Autism Connect.
  • Providing high-quality communications (print and digital) to Amaze’s priority audiences:  autistic people and their families, other autism organisations, government, media, private and community sectors, the wider world through a variety of channels and publications. Working on programs outside of Autism Connect where required.

What you will bring to this role:

  • Degree qualification in an appropriate field – e.g. communications, public relations, marketing
  • 5+ years experience in a similar communications role in a NFP or government environment
  • Demonstrated experience in WordPress and social media management tools
  • Experience providing communication support to projects
  • Adaptable and skilled writer, with experience communicating sensitive topics

Knowledge of the disability sector and the NDIS, and website, graphic design and/or video production skills would also be highly regarded.
