For more than 50 years, Amaze has provided information and resources to autistic people and their families, the broader autism sector (service providers, researchers, autism organisations) and the wider community.  

Today Amaze supports thousands of people every year and also advocates to government to influence positive change and builds the skills of the community to create a better world for autistic people and their families.

The role:

As the Communications Coordinator you will be responsible for:

  • Provide high-quality communications (print and digital) to Amaze’s priority audiences:  autistic people and their families, other autism organisations, government, media, private and community sectors, wider world through a variety of channels and publications.
  • Providing communications advice towards building wider community engagement with and support for Amaze policy priorities through advocacy and fundraising campaigns (digital and community engagement and mobilisation). 
  • Producing communications materials to support Amaze fee for service business (training and consultancy).

What you will bring to this role:

  • Degree qualification in an appropriate field – e.g. communications, public relations, marketing
  • 3+ years experience in a similar communications role in a NFP or government environment
  • True generalist experience, with a versatile skill-set
  • Adaptable and skilled writer, with experience communicating sensitive topics

Knowledge of the disability sector and the NDIS, and website, graphic design and/or video production skills would also be highly regarded.
