The Role

You will provide our clients with a number of services including social support (in home and the community), personal care, medication support, meal preparation, light domestic duties and transportation. The regions of travel are based within the Brisbane Southern suburbs and at our respite centre at Mt Gravatt.

With a restorative and wellness approach, our support staff focus on the ultimate goal to support clients to remain at home and engaged in their local community.

Our Staff

Our support staff make a difference in the lives of our clients and families. The casual hours are dictated by the needs of our clients and families meaning the rosters are flexible and availability may vary.

Key attributes include respect, confidentiality, understanding, empathy as well as adherence to WHS procedures and legislation.

We encourage community support workers with at least 2 years experience in aged care to apply within this caring capacity role who are passionate about working alongside the frail aged and people with dementia who possess a genuine desire to assist clients fulfil their needs and goals.

Role Prerequisites:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in aged care community working alongside people with dementia
  • Minimum Cert III qualification in Aged or Community Care
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Current Queensland Open Drivers Licence
  • Well maintained, reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance (you will be required to travel between our clients homes & sometimes transport clients in your vehicle)
  • Availability required across Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm
  • Yellow Card (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to provide progress reports
  • Access to Smartphone technology
  • Obtain a National Police Certificate

Remuneration

This is a casual position, with an immediate start available. Competitive salary package on offer including option to salary sacrifice, km allowance, comprehensive induction and ongoing training/career development opportunities.
