Disability Support Worker - Logan

All About You Consultancy
  • Overnight support
  • Private Family
  • Hours ranging from 15 - 30 hours per week

I am a clever, quick witted man in my early 40’s living in my own home. I love being with my family, watching sports, cars and going to the pub. I am also looking forward to getting involved with my local football community and exploring my love of cars.

I acquired a brain injury several years ago and life looks a lot different to what I had anticipated. I have a team of loyal and knowledgeable supporters who help me to maintain my home and meet my day to day living needs.

I am currently looking for someone to join my team who can provide me with overnight support and assistance up to 3 nights a week. It’s a straightforward role, providing practical assistance of an evening and in the morning to get ready for the day. Assistance isn’t usually required overnight, but it’s nice to know someone is there if I need anything.

I anticipate our time together may increase over time as we get to know each other and as a member of a team there may be times that I need a hand if others are unavailable. Flexible availability is key! At the moment I am looking for:

  • Wednesday, Friday and Saturday availability preferred (but not essential)
  • Initially hours of support will be 6pm-9am with a view to increase over time.

About You:

I’m looking for a mature female who is easy going and happy to share a laugh and a joke. Qualifications aren’t required however experience and confidence in providing personal care is a must. You’d also view yourself as professional, reflective in practice and keen to embrace professional development opportunities.

I sometimes prefer my own company which is tricky for me to navigate when I also need some support. It’s not personal and presents as a good opportunity for you to also enjoy some peace and quiet during those times. Of course, if you have an interest in watching footy that would get us off to a great start.

  • Easy to get along with, adaptable and sensitive to the needs of others
  • Flexible, positive and loyal approach
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced in providing personal care
  • Driver’s licence
  • Current positive notice for working with vulnerable people or willingness to obtain
  • Weekend, weekday and public holiday availability.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when other supporters are on leave.

The Offer:

  • Supportive and positive environment, with training and professional development opportunities provided
  • Detailed orientation and ongoing supervision
  • Casual, above award hourly and sleep over rate offered.
