AJP Engineering/Cool Climate Homes is a specialist building & energy design consultancy, working with architects, designers and builders to optimise the comfort and minimise the energy use of buildings. Our mission is to empower people to create comfortable, energy-abundant homes that are designed for the future and no longer rely on fossil fuels.

AJP Engineering/Cool Climate Homes services include:

  • Energy efficiency ratings (ACT EER and NSW BASIX)
  • Advice on optimising building design and specification for year-round thermal comfort, including cost-effective analysis, solar requirements and sizing heating and cooling systems
  • Purchasing and designing homes for electric vehicles

The AJP Engineering team currently have two staff and two sub-contractors.

Role

We’re looking for someone highly organised and ready to solve problems. Your role would be to manage job workflow and project administration, working to the Director.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, taking on responsibility and also seeking feedback when required. They should possess a friendly nature, able to handle client communication. Must have demonstrated work experience.

Tasks include

  • Managing job workflow, this includes documentation management, tracking plan changes, invoicing and client liaison
  • Workshop organisation, work scheduling, meeting coordination and inbox management
  • Quote preparation and tender preparation
  • Organising work schedules for sub-contractors
  • Research as directed into policies, legislation, regulation and summarising or finding key information
  • Development of systems and policies as required

Skills

We’re looking for someone who is organised, systematic and has a can-do attitude. Your skills include:

  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Friendly and relatable, with a good phone manner and excellent communication skills both verbal and written with everyone
  • Experience in construction, engineering, architectural, planning or housing sustainability industry highly desirable, but not essential. Willingness to learn
  • Ability to work with, or learn, a variety of programs, including Word, Excel, and Xero and Asana
  • Willingness to solve problems or find solutions as they arise

This is a flexible part-time role at 0.4-0.6 FTE. You will work 3-4 days a week during school hours (with flexibility). A mixture of in-office and remote working will be considered, office located in Bermagui, NSW.
