AHV is a company with a vision to develop and manage the provision of housing assistance to the Aboriginal community in a manner that delivers accessible, affordable, appropriate and secure housing that meets the social, cultural and economic needs of the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
AHV owns a portfolio of over 1500 properties across Victoria. It undertakes tenancy and asset management for these properties and leverages its property portfolio to grow the supply of community housing for Aboriginal Victorians.
AHV provides leadership in advocating for improved housing outcomes for all Aboriginal Victorians.
The Director of Partnerships and External Relations will lead AHV’s external relationship strategy and develop partnerships with the Aboriginal and broader community, the private and philanthropic sectors, and all levels of Government; position the Aboriginal community to advance housing opportunities through the Victorian Aboriginal Housing and Homelessness Framework; and support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to effectively advocate and represent the position of Aboriginal Housing Victoria and the Aboriginal community on housing and homelessness reforms, to government.
The role will involve designing and delivering an external relationship strategy, collaboration with the CEO on advisory board engagement and identification of new and innovative projects, partnerships and funding sources that will position AHV to improve housing outcomes for the community, and maintain its position as the leading Aboriginal housing provider in Australia.
This is a new role and will require the harnessing of existing internal skills and resources and establishment of internal teams to support delivery of the external relationship strategy and new partnership initiatives.
The Director is a senior member of the executive team which is responsible for expanding the role and effectiveness of AHV. As a member of the executive team the Director will be expected to show leadership, be flexible, work collegiately with other Executives and take on other duties from time to time, as required to ensure that AHV meets the Board’s objectives and that it successfully delivers services to its clients
