About the Role...

As a CaFIS Youth Worker, you support youth of families where children have been identified as having experienced abuse and/or neglect or have been identified as being at high risk, in order to improve the care and safety of the children.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Work in a culturally appropriate way with youth to develop support plans that meet their identified needs
  • Support ongoing development and facilitation of positive engagement, interventions and activities
  • Contributing to development of case plans, case management and referrals, identifying strengths, establishing goals, and reviewing the youth’s progress towards their goals
  • Reporting, documenting and completing administrative tasks following guidelines and processes

About You...

  • Diploma or higher-level qualification in Child, Family and Youth Interventions, Community Services, Counselling, or similar
  • Experience working in Aboriginal community health or welfare services
  • Demonstrated case management skills related to family and child work
  • Experience in planning, implementing, tracking, reporting on and evaluating projects
  • Respect for and responsiveness to Aboriginal culture and protocols
  • Current Driver's licence
  • OCHRE Card (Working with Children) or the ability to apply
