  • Location: Australian Greens State Office, Melbourne CBD (you’ll be supported to join our remote working team throughout COVID-19 impacts)
  • Hours: 30-40 hours per week, Casual

We’re looking for an Engagement Support Officer who can provide surge support for our member and volunteer engagement team as our 2020 Council Election campaign efforts reach their peak. About the Victorian Greens

Over the course of the last four decades the Greens have become the third force in Australian politics, with members elected to represent their communities at every level of government. We are a grassroots party that relies on the support of thousands of members and volunteers from across the state.

The Victorian Greens State Office supports party operations and the federal, state and local election campaigns in the state of Victoria. We’re currently working on the Victorian Local Government Elections to be held in October this year. The Greens have 24 Councillors across Victoria and Greens have led the way on issues such as sustainable transport, revolutionising waste management and developing local climate emergency plans. This election is a great opportunity to get more Greens elected to create change in our local communities.

Core responsibilities include:

  1. Liaise with candidates and campaign teams on voter contact strategy and volunteer engagement.
  2. Provide systems support and data training for campaign volunteers to enable their use of voter contact tools.
  3. Implement state-wide voter texting strategy (including coordination of voter-texting parties).
  4. Support the preparation and delivery of webinars and online events and training.
  5. Plan, coordinate and support membership recruitment activities aligned with the campaign cycle.

Selection criteria:

  1. Commitment to the values and policies of the Australian Greens.
  2. Experience using Greens volunteer and member management systems and voter contact tools such as CiviCRM, NationBuilder, EMS, gVIRS and Spoke (or similar).
  3. Outstanding organisational skills, experience in managing people and logistics to tight deadlines, the capacity to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  4. Great interpersonal skills and experience supporting volunteers under pressure and managing stakeholders when the stakes are high.
  5. Ability to to hitting the ground running, jumping straight into delivering projects and offering support where and when required
  6. Process communications skills: the ability to write ‘how-to’ guides and deliver training.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with voter targeting, list creation, data management and reporting.
  • Experience planning and delivering webinars using zoom.
