Role Overview:

We are looking for someone that is motivated and passionate about the safety and wellbeing of our employees. You will have the opportunity to make a big impact within our organisation, be creative and inject fun into how we do things at Aftercare.

  • The HSW Advisor's primary role is to ensure that Aftercare operates safely and complies with all relevant legislation
  • Responsible for the administration & communication of Aftercare's safety management system and processes, as well as the provision of safety expertise for management and staff
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to develop, implement and monitor effective WHS systems, policies, training & practices including health and wellbeing initiatives
  • Develop and conduct regular audits to ensure processes, systems and contractors comply with Work Cover's standards relevant legislation and; organisational policies and procedures
  • As we are a specialist mental health provider, the role will also be responsible for raising the profile of wellbeing for all of our staff and clients

Requirements:

  • Ideally tertiary level education in WHS or a relevant diploma with extensive experience
  • Minimum of 5 years WHS experience ideally within a health or community services sector
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, understand and respond to changing business needs, and taking personal ownership for delivering on safety actions and achieving outcomes
  • Experience in the development and implementation and continuous improvement of WHS management systems and contributing to a culture of health, safety and wellbeing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards relevant to the role
  • Experience managing WHS across a multiple site organisation
  • Strategic and lateral thinking focus with the ability to interpret data & develop appropriate safety management strategies to achieve long term functional and organisational goals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide others in a constructive manner
  • Good computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft packages
  • Flexibility to travel interstate as and when required
  • Current driver's licence with a good driving history
