AFL SportsReady is a national not-for-profit education and employment company. Since 1994, we have kick-started the careers of approximately 16,000 jobseekers, including over 2,500 Indigenous Australians, and supported hundreds of organisations and businesses right across Australia.

We continue to increase our footprint through our growing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment program, which represents the support and opportunities created for Indigenous people through quality education and employment. We focus on strengthening relationships, promoting respect and creating employment and education opportunities for Indigenous people.

AFL SportsReady is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and has a passionate team of over 70 people. With our Head Office in Melbourne and state offices based in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania, we enjoy excellent relationships with a range of corporate partners, all levels of Government and community.

BOARD DIRECTOR APPLICATIONS:

AFL SportsReady is seeking applications to fill a Board Director (Volunteer) vacancy. A candidate with IT/Digital skills and experience is desired in order to complement the broad skills and experience of the current Board Director group.

The successful applicant will contribute to the Board’s passion and vision for giving young people the opportunity to start their careers with confidence, qualifications, and skills.

The AFL SportsReady Board convene for six meetings per calendar year (meetings are currently being held remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions). In the event that travel to Melbourne is required for a particular meeting, expenses including flights, accommodation and transfers will be covered for Directors who reside outside of Victoria.

The successful applicant could be based in any location within Australia.
