Purpose/Objective

Telemarketers are required to generate income for the Australian Foundation for Disability (Afford) through the sale of raffle tickets and portray the positive image of Afford at all times. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The telemarketer is responsible for generating their budgeted number of sales per raffle, to achieve the income targets as described in the attached schedule
  • The number of sales made per telemarketer will be measured against budget on a weekly basis to check if progressive targets are being met
  • The telemarketer is responsible for checking their own work schedule, and achieving their budget requirements while paying particular attention to adhering to the selling schedule, appropriate spiel and delivery methods
  • Telemarketers working on the AFFORD established customer database are responsible for maintaining the database to ensure income levels are met for each raffle. This will be done through building customer relationships and acquiring new customers to replace those lost through natural attrition and deletion
  • Information entered into the computer by the telemarketer shall be accurate and set out as scheduled or instructed in the Telemarketing Procedures Manual

Required Skills

  • Ability to make the required number of sales within specified time frames
  • Knowledge of the Telemate System (training provided)
  • Knowledge of the services provided by Afford
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Availability to work scheduled hours (these are set according to the number of weeks in the Raffle and the shift the Telemarketer works).  Time taken off for non-work related activity will be required to be made up with the duration of the particular raffle, in minimum half hour increments Monday – Thursday or a minimum of a 3 hour shift on a Friday in accordance to Manager approval.

  • Adherence to the Telemarketing Division Code of Practice
