About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who will provide direct clinical services, provide feedback/advice to other Afford staff and external health professionals on customer needs, and support the development of staff in providing quality services to our clients.

You will provide clinical leadership and specialty related education to staff within Afford services. The CNS will initiate and utilise research and quality activities for evidence-based practice and outcome focussed service. The CNS will coordinate the clinical nursing activities and outcomes of customers they are working with.

About you 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current Australian Health Professional Registration Authority registration for a Registered Nurse (RN) Division 1.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the disability or community services sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with other roles (including non-registered health professionals) to build their understanding and skills to improve customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to priorities competing demands.
  • Experience with working in an environment that requires a focus on consumer needs and expectations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different functions across Afford.
  • A strong commitment to customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and client information management systems.
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers’ licence.
