The Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network (AEGN) is Australia’s peak membership organisation for environmental philanthropy.

The AEGNs mission is to grow effective funding for the environment. We work with philanthropic funders who want to become more effective in their giving to address environmental issues. About the role

The Membership Outreach and Programs Manager is responsible for membership growth and satisfaction. By ensuring effective services and programs, reflecting members' needs in strategy, and managing outreach programs and processes, this role increases membership and giving to the environment.

Responsibilities include;

  • Growing the membership and sector partner relationships through identifying and engaging potential members, involvement with the sector, and development and maintenance of relationships with partner organisations.
  • Growing the amount and impact of funding to the environment by engaging the corporate philanthropy sector and constructing and implementing a corporate membership program.
  • Leading the development, implementation, measurement and review of the membership strategy.
  • Engage with and support members through the delivery of membership services, to ensure member satisfaction and facilitate increased and effective giving.

You have a deep knowledge of membership organisations and corporate philanthropy. You are passionate about the role Philanthropy can play in supporting the environment. You believe in the power of collaboration to bring about change. You naturally develop warm professional relationships that will develop into enduring mutually beneficial partnerships. You enjoy working with people and building connections through mutual respect and a learning mindset. You can design and implement programs. You are a strong communicator verbally and in writing.

  • Leadership you are good at doing things yourself but also at teaching, coaching, and supporting others to do them.
  • Excellent communication – you can communicate verbally and in writing with a confident and compelling message to a wide range of stakeholders, staff, members, board, etc.

Requirements

  • Deep experience (10+ years) working in the not-for-profit /philanthropy space, to develop a deep understanding of the area and its needs.
  • Degree in a relevant field, post-graduate studies preferred.
  • Right to work in Australia
