Reporting to the Manager Advocacy. We are seeking a collaborative leader with experience working in the disability or social advocacy sector. As Regional Manager, known locally as Regional Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading a dispersed team of disability advocates, day to day you will manage the intake and assessment for the regions along with the delivery and coordination of regional requirements. You will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the service standards are met.

Along with leading the team, you will maintain a limited individual advocacy caseload and be an escalation point for complex matters. The role will be located in either our Tamworth or Armidale office, with periodic travel required to other offices across the region.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader who has managed a team of professionals within a not-for-profit organisation. You will be ideally able to demonstrate:

  • You have had 5 + years experience in a similar role
  • You are an experienced leader, passionate about people. You bring the best out of your team
  • You are driven, energetic, well organised and work well in a fast paced environment
  • You have the ability to find solutions to problems using your creativity, reasoning abilities and past experience whilst being an innovative problem solver
  • You have the ability to translate sometimes complex concepts, policy and legislative requirements into a language and format that clients, employees and others can understand and use
  • You possess relevant tertiary qualifications (for example: law, social sciences, social work etc)
  • You will have demonstrated experience in providing advocacy for disadvantaged groups
  • You have the ability to communicate (both oral and written) effectively to your team, key stakeholders and clients
  • You have strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • You have excellent negotiating and influencing skills
  • You have knowledge of the NDIS, NDIS Appeals, Disability Royal Commission and other services and resources relevant to people with a disability
  • You possess a current driver's licence (or other reasonable form of transport) to undertake regular travel to regional areas
