Victim Support ACT (VSACT) is seeking candidates to fill a six month opportunity in the role of Victim Rights Advocate. Reporting to the Manager, Victim Rights and Reform, the Victim Rights Advocate will provide advocacy and support for people affected by crime to resolve concerns raised under the Charter of Rights for Victims of Crime in the Victims of Crime Act 1994.
The Victim Rights Advocate will also assist in administering the victims register, the youth justice register and the affected persons register. This will include:

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Qualifications in law and demonstrated experience and knowledge of the ACT criminal justice system are highly desirable. They will have a demonstrated ability to work sensitively with people experiencing complex trauma and people from diverse backgrounds, including people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, and people with disability.
