The Student Engagement and Services Directorate facilitates programs and services through a national approach delivered by campus-based staff, these programs include:

  • ACU Sport, Health & Wellbeing
  • National Student programs including Legal Services
  • A virtual (non-campus dependent) student discount program
  • Student Accommodation under the Living & Learning Communities
  • ACU Medical Centres

This position is accountable for the management & delivery of efficient and effective Sport clubs, Social Sport, the Elite Athlete & Performer program, Australian University Sport competitions and a number of key new initiatives. The role will lead a team of Program staff, administration staff, coaches and club administrators to create an environment that maximises participation and enjoyment of competition and program participates (students staff and the local community ) through the development of operational processes polices, regulations and procedures for ACU’s Sport 5 programs:

  • ACU Sport Clubs
  • Social & Community sport programs
  • ACU’s Elite athlete program
  • ACU’s involvement in the Australian University games competitions
  • Place Management / game day operations

Delivered in an equitable way across the University’s Campuses namely Blacktown, Melbourne, Ballarat, Canberra, North Sydney, Strathfield, and Banyo Qld.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Developing the ACU Sport’s programmatic strategy and plans within the broader Student Engagement and Services Strategy, to guide the work and priorities
  • Plan, build, manage & develop a National University Sporting Club Structure.
  • Build Sport, Health and Wellbeing programs in an innovative and adaptive way, continually improving the scope and depth of the programs across all ACU’s campuses.

You will need to have:

  • Completion of a relevant postgraduate degree; or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience in operations and program planning & delivery
  • Experience in building and developing cultural and sporting programs for the Higher Education sector across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands, achieve required outcomes and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong leadership experience managing a large and diverse remote located group of staff.
