About the Job

The Accommodation and Community Services team supports people living with disability through accommodation, one to one support and community engagement. We offer individualised and person-centred supports by working alongside our customers to support them to reach their full potential and make a difference to the lives of people living with disabilities.

You will be working with customers who enjoy being part of the Men’s Shed, dining out, attending sporting events and getting out into the local community.  You will be required to support our customs with a variety of independent living skills including their personal care, meal preparation and going to medical appointments.

Key duties include:

  • Delivering a wide range of domestic supports within a customer’s residence;
  • Supporting person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals;
  • Supporting customers to engage in community-based activities including visits to the Men’s Shed,  voluntary work dinner out and swimming;
  • Ensuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
  • Administration duties and mandatory daily reports.

What you’ll need?

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships;
  • Ability to follow person-centred plans and assist people to achieve their goals and outcomes;
  • Experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans;
  • Experience in supporting customers with autism;
  • Previous experience with manual handling and medication administration desirable;
  • Willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties;
  • Proven administration and computer literacy skills;
  • A Working with Children check or the ability to obtain one;
  • Valid WA drivers licence and a willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with Activ’s motor vehicle allowance rebate).
