About the job 

The Accommodation Services team located in Waikiki supports people living with disability through accommodation and one-to-one support. We offer individualised and person-centred supports by working alongside our customers to support them to reach their full potential and make a difference to the lives of people living with disabilities. Our customers are all very individual and have varying needs.

Permanent lines consist of the following:

  • 1 x Full Time – 76 hours per fortnight
  • 1 x Part Time – 61 hours per fortnight

Key duties include:

  • Delivering a wide range of domestic supports within a customer’s residence;
  • Supporting person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals;
  • Support customers to engage in a wide range of community-based activities
  • Ensuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
  • Administration duties and mandatory daily reports.

What you'll need?

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Disability Support Worker is essential;
  • Cert III in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, Mental Health or higher is essential;
  • Previous Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA) training is desirable;
  • Previous experience in operating a battery-operated mobile lifting chair (Raizor Lift) is desirable;
  • A drive and passion working with challenging behaviours;
  • Experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans;
  • Previous experience with manual handling and medication administration;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships;
  • Willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties;
  • Proven administration and computer literacy skills;
  • A Valid WA driver’s licence and a willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with Activ’s motor vehicle allowance rebate).
