About the job:

We are seeking an experienced permanent part time (4 days a week) Senior Behaviour Support Consultant to assist individuals, their families and support teams to identify client needs through assessment and individual planning. 

The purpose of the role is to produce detailed Behaviour Support Plans within a holistic and integrated approach

Key duties:

  • Manage a caseload of Behaviour Support/discipline specific referred customers
  • Undertake comprehensive functional behaviour assessments and the development of person centred behaviour support plans
  • Work collaboratively with customer, family and all service providers to ensure understanding of customers behaviours and evidence customer need
  • Monitor the effectiveness of behaviour support plan, its implementation and effectiveness
  • Support the elimination of Restrictive Practices and comply with authorisation requirement

What we are looking for:

  • A tertiary qualification in the disciplines of Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or Speech Pathology - essential 
  • Have or working towards full AHPRA, SPA or AASW registration - essential
  • Demonstrated skill and experience of  Specialist Behaviour Support as outlined in the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Experience in delivering and evaluating relevant training for individuals, families and support staff
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of supports to people with complex behaviour support needs
  • Extensive knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support principals
  • Highly developed data analysis, report writing skills with experience in analysing and evaluating behavioural data
