ActionAid Australia is a global women’s right organisation, working to advance the rights of women living in poverty in communities in 45 countries around the world. We work on issues such as climate justice, economic justice and women’s rights in emergencies.
Are you passionate about women’s rights and social justice? Do you want to engage and inspire your local community to take action against for global gender equality? Are you keen to learn how to campaign and organise to create change?
If yes, then come be a Community Leader within your local NSW group!
We’re building a connected, skilled, diverse and vibrant grassroots network that will stand in solidarity with the women we work with around the world. Together we can take action to address the root causes of poverty and injustice through our campaign to secure decent working conditions for women in the garment sector.
We’re recruiting Community Leaders across NSW to build our network of passionate and dedicated activists and attend a training day in your respective city. At the training we will discuss and strategise on how we can stand in solidarity with women garment workers fighting for their rights in the Global South.
As a Community Leader you will lead and establish a community of volunteers that will campaign locally on international women’s rights issues. You’ll be trained in campaigning, community organising and ActionAid’s Human Rights Based Approach.
We are currently looking for community leaders to be trained, in the following locations:
Inner West Sydney and Wollongong
We’re recruiting leaders from across the Inner-West Sydney and Wollongong regions to come together and attend a one-day training on Saturday 15th May 2021 up in Sydney.
South West Sydney:
We’re recruiting leaders from across the South West Sydney area to come together at a one-day training facilitated by the Change Agency, experts in community organising, on Saturday 29th May 2021.
