An exciting position with McCormack Housing is available - providing housing options to individuals unable to source stable and long term accommodation. Based from Traralgon, Gippsland.
In 2014 the Australian Community Support Organisation’s (ACSO’s) Board created new company – McCormack Housing - to build a social housing response for people in or at risk of entering the criminal justice system. These individuals are at a higher risk of homelessness due to the additional barrier of their forensic background and poor rental histories.
Based on the supportive housing model in conjunction with ACSO, McCormack Housing will deliver housing that enables the organisation to provide safe, attainable, affordable, well maintained supported housing options to the specified client cohort.
In your role you will deliver housing support to ACSO clients, negotiate lease agreements, network with housing providers to source housing, and provide property management. At ACSO our people are important to us, we are an organisation built on the ethos of “creating another chance” and are committed the values of passion, belief in humanity, integrity in all that we do and an innovative spirit. This role would suit someone who shares a passion for human services and working within the justice system. We’re looking for someone who will bring a strong belief in humanity and the basic right each of us has, to a second chance. You will be ethical, self-motivated and committed to helping others achieve their goals.
ACSO embraces diversity within its workforce and as such encourages applications from appropriately qualified and skilled people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including those from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage. ACSO acknowledges the traditional Aboriginal owners of country throughout Victoria and pays respect to them, their culture and their Elders, past, present and future.
