About the program and role

The CREST program is a state-wide reintegration support service delivered in partnership with Queensland Corrective Services (QCS). ACSO is responsible for delivering CREST support in the South East Queensland (SEQ) region which contains six Male Correctional Facilities and seventeen Community Corrections offices. CREST support is provided in collaboration with the client and focusses on resolving any barriers pertaining to their return to the community in addition to promoting a successful reintegration journey. The CREST service delivery model employs case coordination and an assertive outreach approach to achieve successful outcomes for the people we support. This is achieved by establishing relationships with existing health and community service providers and advocating for the delivery of timely and effective support to CREST clients.

As a Team Leader, you will lead a team of Forensic Case Workers delivering the ACSO CREST program, ensuring transparency of practice is maintained and that the services is achieving targets, meeting KPIs in addition to driving positive client outcomes.

Success as a Team Leader requires you to have strong leadership qualities and a sound understanding of the challenges faced by people exiting custody. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day service delivery of CREST, supervising a medium sized team to ensure quality client outcomes.

What we're looking for

We are most focused on finding someone with the right attitude who is flexible and a team player. You will also have/be:

  • A minimum diploma level qualification in Community Services, Mental Health or a similar field
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Ethical, self-motivated and committed to helping others achieve their goals
  • Knowledge of the challenges faced by those leaving the prison system, and an interest and willingness to work with those presenting with high risk offence histories
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Capable of establishing and maintaining clear professional boundaries
  • A strong sense of personal accountability and resilience

What ACSO can offer you

  • Full-time position available until 30 June 2023, with potential for extension.
  • Ipswich location with a hybrid of working from the office, prisons, and from home (if desired), in line with operational requirements
  • $84k base salary + 10% superannuation + NFP salary packaging options (more after tax $ in your pocket!)
  • Paid parental leave (14 weeks accessible after six months of employment)
  • Annual leave loading of 17.5%
