About the role

This program aims to address the diverse and complex needs of forensic clients who are transitioning from prison and who require a supported residential setting. The Forensic Case Workers will, in collaboration with Corrections Victoria, provide an effective, flexible and responsive after-hours and response to clients on post-sentence orders. You will be responsible for working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support our clients achieve positive outcomes with respect to their identified needs and goals.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 1-2 years' relevant or equivalent experience
    • Forensic experience (Police/Department of Justice) would be advantageous
  • The ability to enter and work in a prison environment
  • Experience developing support plans and goal attainment strategies
  • Confidence and ability to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Knowledge and competency in casework practices
  • Demonstrated capacity to work flexibly, possess the ability to manage competing demands, and able to effectively set boundaries and limits where required
  • An extensive background working with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people will be highly regarded
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • While most work will be undertaken within standard business hours, there is a requirement for flexibility and willingness to work afternoon and weekend shifts as needed.

What ACSO can offer you

  • Part-time (0.8 FTE - 30.4 hours per week), ongoing position available. Preston location!
  • $52,880 per annum at 0.8 FTE ($66,100 pro rata 1.0 FTE) + 10% superannuation + NFP salary packaging options + penalty rates as applicable for evening and weekend work
  • Paid parental leave (14 weeks accessible after six months of employment)
  • Annual leave loading of 17.5%
