About the role

The Reception and Administration role is pivotal for the smooth day to day running of our offices. It is the first point of contact for all our clients and visitors providing support for all daily interactions across our programs.

In this role, you will deliver a welcoming and professional front of house presence at ACSO whilst working as part of the broader Facilities team and on our National Phone Line as well as providing administrative and reception support to the Queensland Hubs. Our national phone line takes calls from Victoria, Queensland and NSW supporting programs which include Casework Services, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and Mental Health, Community Offenders Advice and Treatment Service (COATS), Community Re-Entry Services Team (CREST), Transition to Work (TTW) and Residential Services.

What we're looking for

  • Certificate IV in office administration and/or relevant experience working in a forensic administrative/reception environment desirable.
  • Very good administrative, communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to liaise with consumers, stakeholders and peers
  • Ability to manage busy and stressful situations
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities under limited supervision
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with minimal supervision and under remote working conditions
  • Demonstrated computer skills in the use of MS Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel
  • An understanding that the majority of client groups that ACSO services have been involved in the criminal justice system and the skills required to deal with a variety of client behaviours consistent with this cohort
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality particularly with regards to client privacy and sensitive organisational information
  • Previous experience working in the community services sector with client presenting with complex needs would be an advantage.

What ACSO can offer you

  • Part-time 0.658 FTE (50 hours per fortnight), permanent position. Ballarat location!
    • Monday to Friday, 10am - 3:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break (these times could potentially be tweaked to suit your circumstances)
  • $37,850 base salary at 0.658 FTE ($29.11 per hour) + 10% superannuation + NFP salary packaging options (more after tax $ in your pocket!)
  • Paid parental leave (14 weeks accessible after six months of employment)
  • Annual leave loading of 17.5%
