ACFID is the peak body for Australian non-government organisations involved in international development and humanitarian action.

Our purpose is to lead and unite our members in action for a just, equitable and sustainable world.

ACFID has a new and exciting short term opportunity for a communications and event support professional to join our Conference Steering Group and provide communications and general event support in the development and delivery of our annual, regional conference that for the first time, will be held virtually in the last week of October, 2020.

In this role you will:

  • Draft and edit copy for a range of conference marketing material to be released via various media channels
  • Support the CSG with event logistics as required, including but not limited to updating the conference website, liaison with event suppliers and development of material for speakers and staff such as run sheets and instructions relating to delivery of a virtual conference
  • Contribute to the delivery of the virtual conference in late October as required, including supporting the communications during the event

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience with a communications and/or marketing background
  • Ability to work independently from home (laptop, internet etc) and attend an office environment as required
  • Demonstrated qualities of initiative, adaptability, responsiveness, and creative thinking

This position is offered for an immediate start as a non-ongoing casual position for 2 days a week (with the potential for this to increase to 3). For the week leading to conference and the week of conference, this position will be required full time (total of 70 hours across 2 weeks). Preference is Canberra based.

ACFID offers a base salary of $75,706.77 per annum (pro rata), plus 9.5% superannuation.
