We’re seeking a Social Media superstar to create and curate engaging content, that will get our followers excited and involved in the conversation around Australia’s unique environment.
When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.
We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.
Whether it’s advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania’s forests or koalas snoozing in big old trees, our dedicated community of over 700,000 supporters are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people and wildlife thrive.
The Social Media Coordinator is the superstar that develops, tracks and optimises ACF’s social media engagement strategy.
An expert storyteller, the Social Media Coordinator works to attract new supporters and engage our existing community to support our awesome campaigns on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube, tracking and rolling out organic content and ads to measure the effectiveness of each campaign.
Reporting into our wonderful Media and Investigations Manager, and working as part of the wider Engagement Team, the Social Media Coordinator uses their social media wizardry to help ACF’s campaigns go viral!
You will have around 5 years' experience working in a social media engagement role and have a deep understanding of tone, etiquette and audience of each social media platform. You know how to present complex information in simple and attention-grabbing ways to engage our audience and you love tracking the reach of your efforts.
You are a content creation magician, with a strong portfolio of work to show for your experience. You’re ‘punny’ and confident in using appropriate humour to get your point across, quickly pulling together content that will get positive attention.
Part of this will involve managing our social media voice, and mitigating risk when it comes to breaking news or those stickier, more controversial topics so of course, you’ll have a wide interest in current affairs and an understanding of the news cycle.
Above all, you’ll need to show initiative, creativity, and originality. Show us what you’ve got by sending in a Video Application!
You’ll find the full position description on our website at www.acf.org.au/work_with_us
