When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.
We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by donations from our supporters.
Whether it’s advocating for a clean energy future, the Great Barrier Reef, or the habitat of our beautiful koalas, our dedicated community of over 700,000 supporters are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.
ACF is fortunate to be in a secure financial position due to the ongoing, incredible generosity of our donors. We also have strong operational processes and systems that have seen us take the challenges of COVID in our stride. Our head office is in the Green Building on Melbourne’s CBD fringe and we have three satellite offices around Australia.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, your role will be to drive the transformation of the Finance & Admin function, taking it to the next level of performance. Leading a small, professional and highly responsive team, you will drive innovation across the organisation.
Primarily, you will be focussed on ensuring our 70+ staff can efficiently access finance and admin services when and where they need them. You will drive change by implementing process automation and employee self-service initiatives.
You will partner with the Head of Technology and Head of People & Culture to deliver a modern, post-pandemic, flexible and inclusive workplace. You will be an advocate for data-driven decision making and improving ACF’s digital capability.
You will collaborate with leaders in our Campaigns, Engagement, and Fundraising directorates to understand their needs and ensure that your team is providing the very best support.
You have a vision of where the Finance and Admin function is heading in this new decade and you’re keen to make a difference and implement change.
You’ve been-there and done-that when it comes to roles that focus on the regular cycles of month end and year end, and you’re wanting to make a more strategic impact on the world of work.
You will have been a finance manager or equivalent for at least two years so you know your way around all aspects of the finance function. You’ve had responsibility for admin or office services or alternatively, you may be at the point in your career where you want to move into a role that is broader than finance, on your journey towards becoming a Financial Controller.
Your Excel skills are second to none and you love to explore and implement new technologies. You have administered finance systems and been involved in new system implementations. You enjoy problem-solving and communicating your insights in compelling ways.
You are someone who creates clarity where there is uncertainty, calmly guides our team through change, foresees and bridges capability gaps and pushes the pace of project delivery with sensitivity. It’s in your nature to be curious and to help people at every level to solve problems in innovative ways.
You will thrive in an environment of challenge and empowerment where everyone strives to make a maximum impact by helping others succeed and continuously improving the way that work gets done.
