Community & Mobilisation Manager

Australian Conservation Foundation

We’re seeking an engagement and mobilisation expert to activate and build our people power.

  • Full-time permanent position with a salary of $108,956.04 per annum plus 10% superannuation
  • Located in our award-winning Green office in Carlton
  • Come and experience our award-winning organisational culture for yourself!

Who is the ACF?

When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.

We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.

Whether it’s advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania’s forests or koalas snoozing in big old trees, our dedicated community of over 700,000 supporters are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people and wildlife thrive.

What’s the gig?

The Community & Mobilisation Manager is our superstar when it comes to developing and delivering action-worthy strategies that engage and activate our supporters, and further enhance ACF’s people power.

Leading the team responsible for nurturing and activating ACF’s community of supporters is a job we hold in high regard at ACF, so the Community & Mobilisation Manager will inspire our incredible team of digital campaigners to also create and execute plans that deepen the organisation’s knowledge of who becomes involved, why, and how to overcome barriers to involvement.

With the oversight of our wonderful Director of Engagement, the Community & Mobilisation Manager will bring strong technical skills, as well as communications knowledge, to help guide their team and apply a ‘test and learn’ approach to their work.

About you!

In addition to a 'deep-seeded' passion for nature, you will have extensive experience (circa 7 years’) creating and shaping action-worthy online, but also offline supporter outreach and actions. You can see the forest for the trees, but equally, you can take a pragmatic and detailed approach when needed, which allows you to take organisational goals and strategies, and turn them into actionable tasks.

Not only do you talk the talk when it comes to organisational values, but you lead by example and inspire best practice. You take pride in the team you lead and want to ensure that everyone is clear on their expectations, what ‘good’ looks like, and that your team are constantly striving towards high performance and personal development milestones.

A calm but also confident leader, you are comfortable making quick, evidence-based, and strategically-relevant decisions, even when it may be a hard or unpopular call, all the while taking into account both the rational and emotional elements of situations.
