The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the training, assessment and continuing professional development of emergency physicians as well as the advancement of professional standards in emergency medicine in Australia and New Zealand.

The Position

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a highly collaborative and self-motivated individual to assist in the coordination and delivery of the College’s examination process and activities.

The Assessment Officer works within the Education Assessment unit and is responsible for providing comprehensive administration and support for ACEM examinations across the training program. The examinations consist of practical, oral, written and online examinations.

To be successful in this role you will require the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

  • Highly developed administrative skills, including the ability to manage time effectively to manage competing priorities and meet objectives or deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy when preparing and checking examination materials and processing results, or the ability to be able to demonstrate these skills in another area.
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, such as the ability to work with ambiguity and adapt to changing demands.
  • Well-developed written communication skills, involving the development of reports, email correspondence, panel meeting communications, and following up action items.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop, administer and improve systems and processes in paper-based and online formats. Strong attention to detail, preferably in a regulatory and compliance environment.
