THE ORGANISATION

The Association for Children with Disability Tas is a statewide not for profit organisation. We specialise in the provision of Advocacy, Case Coordination, Information, Training and Consultancy and Peer Networks. We work alongside families with children and young people with disability. 

THE ROLE

A Support Coordinator plays a integral role in supporting participants and their families to navigate the NDIS system, understand their NDIS plans and connect into the broader system of services, to implement all supports in a participant's plan, including informal, mainstream, community and funded supports.

Your experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant qualification in Allied Health, Human Services or Disability (preferred).
  • Understanding of the NDIS including reading, understanding and implementing as aspects of NDIS plans.
  • Previous experience in community services, disability employment services, mental health services or similar
  • Demonstrated time management skills.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and interact effectively with participants, staff and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports as per NDIS requirements.
  • Experience in connecting clients to services and negotiation to get the right supports for the person.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to customer service.
  • Current driver's license and willingness to travel to clients where required.
  • Demonstrated competence in general computer applications.
  • Current National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain these prior to successful commencement)

ACD Tas offers a competitive salary with attractive salary sacrifice options; flexible hours; and workplace options. Salary is based on SCHADS award, Level 4 or 5 depending on qualifications and experience.
