The Opportunity

For over 10 years, Accordwest has delivered reintegration and rehabilitation services to the South West region and within Bunbury Regional Prison. We are excited to be expanding our Rehabilitation Services through the Department of Justice to include a Men’s Behaviour Change Program, delivered in the Bunbury community and providing intervention to perpetrators of family and domestic violence (FDV).

To support this expansion, we are seeking an experienced Program Facilitator to provide high quality group facilitation, individual client work, report writing, case management duties, and team collaboration.

Program Facilitators deliver a high intensity Men’s Behaviour Change Program to perpetrators of family and domestic violence and work collaboratively with the Family Safety Worker to place the safety of women and children at the forefront of service provision.

Program delivery includes co-facilitated group work and individual sessions with participants. A key focus of the role is community safety through perpetrator accountability, skill building, and behaviour change.

Current Rehabilitation Services deliver an alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment program within Bunbury Prison. Program Facilitators will have the opportunity to work across either program and develop their skills across both FDV and AOD intervention.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and deliver high-quality therapeutic offender treatment programs to participants, in compliance with the Department of Justice program requirements
  • Work collaboratively, utilising a strengths-based, person-centred approach, to deliver high supports and communicate any service delivery requirements or concerns to the line manager.
  • Prioritise the safety of victim-survivors and vulnerable children, ensuring a zero-tolerance policy to violence is applied across all group programs and participants
  • Provide mobile, outreach and office-based case management supports to individuals and families.
  • Role model safe, positive, and professional relationships with co-facilitator
  • Participate in case collaboration with key stakeholders including Adult Community Corrections, the Department of Justice, Bunbury Regional Prison, local refuges and victim-survivor support services, and external support services

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of family violence, substance misuse and therapeutic treatment practices.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of facilitation and/or group work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of intersectionality of family and domestic violence in vulnerable communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with vulnerable clients who have complex needs and achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
