We are committed to fostering community development, youth, settlement and employment initiatives and to providing personal support programs to address the needs of disadvantaged youth and community groups including migrants, refugees, humanitarian entrants and visa holders.

Position Overview

The Access Gateway is an initiative to extend ACSL's support services to the wider disadvantaged population of Logan. The role's purpose is to provider daily support to clients in the centre and enquiries which present to the centre. The role may be required to supervise a reception trainee and support them to develop their skills in client facing support and reception duties. Additionally, the role will manage external enquiries for room bookings.

This is a fixed-term full-time position based in Logan Central.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the reception space at the Access Gateway, including directing clients and seeing to phone calls
  • Stocking, tidying and managing donations
  • Monitoring and ordering stock and resources
  • Ensuring the reception space and rooms is kept clean and tidy in line with WHS requirements
  • Receiving and booking rooms for external enquiries, following WHS and finance processes
  • Providing information and advice on local services and referral pathways for general enquiries

Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Tertiary or other qualifications within Community Services, Human Services or similar discipline.
  • Relevant experience working with vulnerable families and communities.
  • Ability to engage with people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background and refugees.
  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Proficient in using general computer programs and client management systems.
  • A paid Blue Card or ability to obtain one.
