Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to case manage parents of young children, in receipt of government benefits to overcome their barriers towards employment. ParentsNext Case Workers assist the participants of the program to

  • Identify their career and employment goals, then
  • Create pathways for achieving these goals, and
  • Make referrals into appropriate activities and services for the achievement of goals

This is a six month, full-time position based in Logan; with the expectation of extension.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working collaboratively with Parents to identify employment and education goals while taking into consideration caring responsibilities, barriers and family circumstances;
  • Assist in identifying and referring into activities to progress these vocational and non-vocational goals;
  • Linking participants to activities and services within their local community;
  • Undertaking case management and collaborating with local services to be able refer participants in suitable activities to assist them with overcoming their barriers toward employment;
  • Monitoring and supporting progress within activities and the achievement of goals

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following experience and abilities:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the community services sector, preferably within Employment Services
  • Previous experience within client advocacy and case management
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with parents from diverse backgrounds and develop practical strategies to overcome complex barriers.
  • Proven ability working to targets and KPI's
  • Knowledge of current support agencies/programs for parents in the Wivenhoe Employment Region.
  • Rights to work in Australia
  • Current Drivers License
  • Current QLD Paid Blue Card or ability to obtain one
  • Police Clearance (no older than 6 months) or ability to obtain one
