The Australian Communications Consumer Action Network, ACCAN, is Australia’s peak body representing the interests of all consumers in communications issues. ACCAN is an important and independent consumer voice promoting the accessibility, quality of service, affordability and availability of communications services for all Australian consumers.
This is a great opportunity for a Graduate Policy and Research Officer to join our small but highly effective team. Reporting to our Policy Manager, you will join a busy policy team and develop your skills as you contribute to a wide range of communications consumer policy initiatives and support the delivery of the ACCAN Independent Grants Program.
Your interest and knowledge in communications issues, as well as excellent analytical and stakeholder liaison skills, will be the key to your success in this role. Your capacity to apply strategic thinking about how to engage with key issues will ensure that ACCAN remains dynamic and responsive to emerging consumer issues in the communications sector. You are committed to consumer rights and have a passion for social justice and fair markets.
You should have relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a communications policy role. Applicants with an economic background (particularly behavioural economics or political economy) are encouraged to apply, but other disciplines are also valued. Previous work experience is not required, but would support your application.
ACCAN offers competitive salaries based off the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. Salary for this role is estimated at SCHCADS Award Level 3 ($74,000 - $79,000, subject to experience/qualifications) with 11.5% superannuation.
In support of a work/life balance, benefits such as flexible working arrangements may also be negotiated to meet your personal circumstances.
Please note that ACCAN’s office is based in Sydney CBD, but consideration will be given to those applying from other locations. Contact ACCAN Policy Manager Audrey Isadora Reoch on 9288 4012 or [email protected], using the subject line: Graduate Policy and Research Officer enquiry via EthicalJobs, for more details.
