The Opportunity

The ICT Security Manager is responsible for cybersecurity across all Abt Associates Australia and Britain hybrid on-premises and cloud-based technology platforms and processes. This role ensures policies, procedures, technology solutions and security education and training are fit for purpose and effectively manage cybersecurity risks.

Key Duties

The ICT Security Manager will be expected to fulfil the following duties (but not limited to):

Security Operations

  • Manage critical incident response and recovery
  • Manage effective system security hygiene
  • Manage vulnerability scanning and testing

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Key Stakeholders Include: US, Australia and Britain based executive and senior ICT leadership; international and domestic program leadership, Abt staff and users, vendors and contractors
  • Executive reporting including, CyberMetrics, security roadmap, incident and compliance activities
  • General security awareness compliance training

Risk Management

  • Manage vulnerability, risk and incident analysis and remediation
  • Manage risk, compliance and assurance management activities
  • Manage disaster recovery and business continuity processes and testing

Security Governance

  • Ensure alignment with key frameworks and standards E.G.: NIST, ASD Essential 8 and Australian Government ISM, UK Government CyberEssentials, ISO27001, etc.
  • Manage CyberMetrics maturity program and utilise this framework to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and manage the ICT security roadmap

Key Requirements

The preferred candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience implementing technical security policies and practices
  • Thorough understanding of networking, system administration, architectures and security elements to include firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virtualisation technologies, encryption, and servers
  • Ability to identify, understand, articulate, and manage risks across technical disciplines and business units able to provide prioritisation and remediation efforts in a timely and repeatable manner for identified risks
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritise and multi-task while proactively managing customer expectations
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision to meet important deadlines
