About the Role

Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Senior Manager for the Adoptions and Legal Teams. The location for this role is negotiable and can be based in Homebush (preferred), Penrith, Gosford, Shellharbour and Ultimo (for hotdesking). Reporting to the General Manager – OOHC, the Senior Manager, Adoptions and Legal will be responsible for;

  • Coordinating and overseeing the day to day operational delivery and administration of the Adoptions Program in NSW; including overseeing the service delivery, financial and human resource management of the Adoptions and Legal teams and staff.
  • Undertaking functions of the designated Principal Officer in terms of the Adoption Act 2000

About You

To be successful in the Senior Manager role, you will ideally have;

  • Tertiary degree level qualification in a Human Services or related field.
  • Knowledge of care and protection legislation and practice regarding permanency outcomes for children in relation to type of OOHC placement
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in child and family welfare and in foster care or a related area of alternate care for children.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of permanency planning.
  • Strong advocacy skills with regards to children referred to and serviced by the Adoption and Permanent Care programs.
  • Experience in team leadership and program management, staff supervision, program planning and review.
  • A current driver’s license and the ability to work in a flexible manner, including after hours, when required.

Barnardos offers a base salary, plus leave loading, plus superannuation. Salary packaging is available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging is available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
