The Role

A permanent full time Practice Quality Specialist is required for the Practice Quality Portfolio based in Barnardos Head Office in Ultimo,Central Sydney.

Reporting to the Head of Continuous Practice Improvement, the Practice Quality Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development and provision of high-quality programs for children, young people, their families and communities with respect to Barnardos Australia (BA) services. This position will assist the Head of Continuous Practice Improvement to establish and to ongoingly maintain the new (2020) Practice Quality portfolio with a particular focus on Practice Frameworks, Practice Capability and Quality Assurance.

The Candidate

The successful Practice Quality Specialist will ideally have:

  • Tertiary/Degree qualifications in Social Welfare or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of current legislation and practices in NSW child protection and preferably adoption.
  • Understanding of occupational health and safety, the principles of social justice, equity and sensitivity for people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in child and family welfare and in foster care or a related field.
  • Demonstrated high-level communication and consultation skills (written and verbal).
  • Proven interpersonal and collaborative skills, which includes dealing with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders from varying backgrounds.
  • Established problem solving skills
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, delegate appropriately.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number).

Salary

$88 847 - $97,194 base (including FBT packaging) + Super.
