Mental Health Support Worker - Central Coast

Our Client, a leading not for profit organisation, is currently recruiting for an experienced Mental Health Support Worker to join their team based in the Central Coast.

This role will involve:

  • Working with clients with complex mental health illness
  • Assisting clients with maintaining accommodation and being part of their community
  • Supporting clients with independent living and self-management skills
  • Providing psychosocial support
  • Working effectively from an NDIS plan, to achieve identified goals
  • Liaising with service providers ensuring adequate support, referral and information is provided
  • Adhering to policy and procedures of the organisation

The requirements for this role include:

  • Sound report writing and administration skills
  • Ability to work a rotating roster
  • Experience working with people with persistent mental health illness
  • Previous experience working within Aboriginal/Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, will be highly regarded
  • A tertiary qualification within Social Care, Mental Health, Psychology or Counselling

Additional Information

  • A number of probity checks are required including holding a current working with children and undertaking a National police checks.
