The Dementia Australia Research Foundation (DARF) is the research arm of Dementia Australia, who primarily focus on securing funding to support innovative Australian research to better understand the cause of dementia and develop strategies to reduce dementia risk and slow the progression of the disease. DARF is seeking an experienced Research Officer on a full time, 12 month contract to support the grant application and review process for funding schemes and to assist the manager across operational aspects of the funding rounds.

Reporting directly to the Manager, Dementia Australia Research Foundation you will also be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and administering key processes associated with the review of grant applications submitted to DARF
  • Undertaking key administrative tasks such as collating applications and data entry
  • Providing secretariat support for the DARF Scientific Panel and Board

To be successful in this role you will be a team player, have excellent interpersonal communication skills and meet the key selection criteria outlined below.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Working experience in health administration, grant and scholarship administration, or equivalent.
  2. Highly-developed administrative and organisational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage work efficiently and accurately.
  3. Proven capacity to gather information, analyse data and prepare reports.
  4. Exemplary interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications or experience in health administration, grant and scholarship administration, or equivalent.
