Located at our Glenside office, the Project Officer – Dementia-Friendly Communities will be responsible for providing a high standard of professional administration and project support for the Dementia-Friendly Communities program. The role is also expected to take a lead role in managing the dementia-friendly champion volunteer program, coordinating the program’s recognition processes, maintenance of the Dementia-Friendly Communities website and responding to Australia-wide Dementia Friends and dementia-friendly communities enquiries.

Reporting directly to the National Manager – Dementia-Friendly Communities, you will also be responsible for:

  • Managing and distributing collateral supplies such as brochures, badges, certificates and other resources.
  • Undertaking various project and administrative tasks, including provision of timely and accurate information, program monitoring and evaluation activities, maintaining records and preparing communications, briefs and reports.
  • Managing the recruitment, induction and ongoing support of volunteer dementia-friendly champions (DF Hosts) in the community.
  • Coordinating the maintenance of the Dementia-Friendly Community website

To be successful in this role you will be a team player, have excellent interpersonal communication skills and meet the key selection criteria outlined below.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Relevant experience in program and project management environments including experience in analysis, planning, organisational and time management
  2. Demonstrated experience in engaging and working effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and the ability to build and maintain productive and professional relationships
  3. Demonstrated ability to self-manage time efficiently and to deliver solutions on time and to specification
  4. Strong organisational skills including the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently, use initiative, establish priorities and work to tight or competing deadlines
  5. Experience in preparing reports (executive summary, data analysis and data presentation) meeting documentation (agendas, minute taking and writing, and preparation of meeting action lists) with an attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Cert IV in Business Administration, or equivalent (desirable)
