We are currently looking for a People and Culture Advisor for a full-time, fixed term contract until 31 July 2021 based in our Woolloongabba, QLD office. This position provides Human Resources and Volunteering support, advice and administration across a full range of Human Resources and Volunteering services to Dementia Australia staff members. As part of the National People and Culture team, you will be the first point of contact for Human Resources enquiries for Dementia Australia staff in your designated location.

Reporting directly to the People and Culture Business Partner you will also be responsible for:

  • Working directly with managers and employees to resolve queries, support and advise on Human Resources procedures and policy, manage performance, resolve disputes, enhance teamwork, interview candidates and build culture
  • Working collaboratively with the National People and Culture team to contribute to the development and consistent implementation of Human Resources and Volunteering procedures and projects.
  • Ensuring a positive induction and orientation experience for new staff and volunteers
  • Providing Return to Work (RTW) coordination and local management of work cover claims
  • Organizing volunteer activities and events, such as Memory Walk & Jog and Dementia Awareness Month and coordinate the volunteer recruitment needs for each event

To be successful in this role you will be a team player, have excellent interpersonal communication skills and meet the key selection criteria outlined below.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. 3-5 years’ experience in a dedicated Human Resources role ideally in the NFP sector
  2. Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently with appropriate judgement about escalation of issues and reporting activity
  4. High level of interpersonal, communication skills including the ability to establish and communicate effectively with a diverse range of peopl

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related disciplines
