Chief Executive Officer - location negotiable

Australian Alcohol and Other Drugs Council

The Australian Alcohol and Other Drugs Council (AADC) is the new peak body representing the alcohol and other drugs (AOD) sector in Australia. The AADC is excited to offer the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), fixed-term contract position initially being offered for 2 years, with extension likely for the right person.

As the inaugural CEO, you will ensure that AADC’s image is established, recognised and respected and its performance is developed to the highest level. Working in partnership with the Board, you will develop and implement its vision and focus, fostering cooperation throughout the national membership and providing inspirational leadership and direction to staff, supporters and the community.

As an experienced senior executive, you must also have a passion for and commitment to the AADC’s values and priorities in representing and advancing the interests of the AOD sector in Australia. Accustomed to working with a Board, you have ideally had high level managerial experience in a purpose-driven entity with a federated or membership-based structure. This role requires an exceptional leader to manage the organisation within the political, social and economic context.

Given that a national office is yet to be established, the location of the position is negotiable and remuneration of up to $150,000 per annum (pro rata for 0.6 FTE part time position) will be negotiated with the successful candidate. AADC is also able to offer generous salary packaging arrangements in line with its status as a registered Health Promotion Charity.
