Your Role

  • Increase the uptake and use of digital health technologies in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs).
  • Help increase access to healthy ageing initiatives to support older people manage their chronic health conditions.
  • Build strong relationships with RACFs, undertaking engagement, education and training activities for residential aged care staff.

The Program Development Officer – Older People will support people in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) and the community setting across the Nepean Blue Mountains region to implement initiatives that facilitate more timely access to primary health care professionals, reducing the need for hospitalisation where it can be avoided. In addition, they may assist with the development of other initiatives that support healthy ageing and older people to live at home longer. For more information, please see the position description.

  • Location: Penrith LGA
  • Remuneration: $89,918 (potential maximum grossed up salary equivalent $99,689*)

*Based on NFP salary packaging tax benefits (which may be subject to criteria)

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in the field of health, aged care, program management or community services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Residential Aged Care Facilities and/or the aged care sector.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral, and engagement skills to foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated program management experience with problem solving skills and the capacity to analyse information and plan approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work autonomously, but also collaborate and contribute positively to a broader team.
  • Demonstrated, highly developed organisational skills with the ability to manage several parallel priorities and achieve desired outcomes within specific timeframes.
  • Proven ability to utilise information technology tools (in particular the Microsoft Office suite, customer relations databases, email, and internet) to an intermediate level.

This position is full time and is funded until June 2024. Future employment is subject to ongoing funding.
